Fans heading to MetLife Stadium this football season may want to lower their expectations for the concessions.
The home of the New York Jets and New York Giants ranked as the NFL’s 10th-worst stadium for food and drinks in an analysis of Google reviews conducted by Crypto Casino Winna.
MetLife Stadium’s food and drink offerings received a net approval rating of +29.1. Fries were the highest-rated concession item, earning a +15.6 net approval rating, more than 13 points above the league average of +2.4, according to the study.
Beer also outscored the league average, with a +10.8 net approval rating against +10.3 across the league.
Researchers analyzed Google reviews mentioning stadium food and beverages, categorizing comments as positive, negative or mixed. They then calculated a net approval score by subtracting the percentage of negative reviews from the percentage of positive reviews.
“MetLife Stadium’s stadium food is poor by league standards, and a relatively high number of complaints were about the price, too,” said Paul Mertens, CEO of Winna. “When including price complaints and not just food quality complaints, MetLife Stadium ’s food scores +15.5 for net approval rating.”
The Washington Commanders’ Northwest Stadium sits at the very bottom of the rankings, with a net approval of +7.9.
At the top of the rankings was Mercedes-Benz Stadium, home of the Atlanta Falcons, which earned a +60.7 net approval rating for its food and drink offerings. That score was 13.9 points higher than second-place M&T Bank Stadium, home of the Baltimore Ravens.
