A patient at the North Shore University Hospital was arrested after police say he struck two nurses.
Police say they responded to the Manhasset hospital around 4 p.m. on Monday.
Upon arrival, they determined Oshane Bernard, of Queens, was agitated and hit two nurses with a closed fist.
Authorities say 36-year-old was placed under arrest without incident and charged with two counts of assault.
The nurses, both 29 years old, were evaluated by hospital staff.
Bernard is expected to be arraigned when medically practical.
