A Bridgeport nonprofit focused on affordable housing and homeownership is celebrating 40 years of helping families build greater financial stability.
Building Neighborhoods Together is holding its 40th anniversary gala tonight at The Waterview in Monroe.
Organizers say money raised will support the nonprofit’s work providing better housing, repairing credit and helping people manage their finances.
“At Building Neighborhoods Together, we do such terrific work. We’re helping people achieve the American Dream of home ownership,” Charlie Griggs said. “A lot of people are going to be there, we’re celebrating bigtime, it’s all the work we do in the community for 40 years, helping people get better housing.”
Among those being honored is Jillian Baldwin, head of the Bridgeport Housing Authority.
