Milford is significantly increasing oversight of its surveillance technology following months of community privacy concerns over Flock Safety "Condor" cameras.

The new measure requires explicit approval for any new surveillance technology, expansions or contract renewals.

It also gives the police chief 90 days to provide a full public list of all active surveillance vendors and their annual costs.

The changes follow community pushback over the city's deployment of Flock Safety "Condor" cameras.

The cameras were paused over the summer amid concerns about privacy violations and data breaches.
