Stamford police say three teens are facing bomb-making charges after they were allegedly found making Molotov cocktails in a backyard close to Metro-North railroad tracks.
They say they found a 13-year-old and two 14-year-old boys after getting a call from a concerned resident. The teens were reportedly pouring gasoline into glass bottles and sticking rags inside at a house on Culloden Road.
Authorities counted 30 bottles, all in different stages of becoming Molotov cocktails, as well as a gasoline container. The bomb squad was called in to secure the items.
They say the boys got the idea from watching a movie. News 12 is told the teens do not have a criminal history and were sent to the Bridgeport Detention Center.
Neighbors say the area is very quiet and safe, and that they were shocked to find out about the allegations.
