No.3 UConn men's tops Rhode Island in preseason opener

The UConn Huskies opened their preseason Monday night at Mohegan Sun. That, as they placed third in the AP men's top 25 preseason poll.
They came in behind Kansas and Alabama. Houston and Iowa State round out the top 5. Coach Dan Hurley said no to an offer from the NBA to instead seek a third straight NCAA title with the Huskies.

The Huskies beat Rhode Island 102-75. Coach Hurley thinks he has put together another winning team.
The Huskies begin defense of their back to back titles in their first regular season game when they host Sacred Heart on Nov. 6.
