Five people were injured in a two-vehicle crash in Bridgeport Saturday.
The accident happened on East Main Street near Autumn Street around 12 p.m.
Officials say the driver of a Chevy Cavalier was speeding and crossed over double yellow lines, hitting a Honda Pilot head-on.
The driver of the Chevy, 36-year-old Marvin Fields, of Bridgeport, and two passengers were taken to hospitals, according to police. Officials say Fields is in critical condition.
Nikki Thompson, the sister of one of the passengers in Fields' car, says she is grateful that her brother, 35-year-old Tirrell Thompson, will be OK.
"He has a mild concussion so he is a bit confused as to the details," she says. "He is remembering things in bits and pieces. He's remembering things that happened days ago, things that happened yesterday. He doesn't even remember being in the car."
Thompson's sister says her brother is very well-known in the community.
"He's a good person, he's friends with everybody," she says. "He's a really good, patient, kind person."
Police say a third person in the Cavalier, 33-year-old Demetrius Ellis, was also hurt. Police say everybody in the Chevy had to be cut out using the Jaws of Life.
Police say both people in the Honda Pilot, Latwana Fisher and her passenger, Cedrick Lawrence, were taken to Saint Vincent's Medical Center.
No charges have been filed.
