Spring concerts are a staple at most universities nationwide, but at Sacred Heart University the headline act is causing quite a stir.
Rap artist 50 Cent is set to perform Friday at the Catholic university, but some students say he is an inappropriate artist for the school and doesn't mesh with the university's philosophies.
School officials say they try to bring in artists from all musical tastes and provide students with popular entertainment.
Many fans are surprised that a rapper whose lyrics you can't say on air would be invited to play at their school.
"A lot of 50 Cent's lyrics and what he stands for doesn't portray the beliefs and the views of the Catholic Church," says one student.
The school is bringing in extra officers to handle crowd control. Administrators also denied some more risqué requests by 50 Cent.
