A $5,000 reward is being offered for information that can lead to the arrest of a man who abandoned a dog in Stratford.

Witnesses say a man got out of his truck and threw a beagle into the road before driving away.

It happened Wednesday near Hillside Avenue.

The dog is now safe, but officials urge anyone with information to call the police.
