Six Flags Great Adventure is opening to the general public on July Fourth with extensive new safety measures in place due to the COVID-19 pandemic. At first, the thrill park will have reduced attendance levels, and then gradually open up to more people.
However, to ensure a day of fun for you and your family, there are some things you should know before arriving.
1. Six Flags is “employing an online reservation system to manage attendance.” This means guest arrival times will be staggered to minimize guests waiting in lines close together.
2. There will be thermal imagining upon arrival for temperature checks and “touchless bag checks.” The temperature checks also apply to the staff at the park.
3. The park will now have mobile food ordering.
4. All guests over the age of 2, and all employees, will be required to wear face masks for the duration of the visit. Masks will be available for sale at the front gate for anyone without one. They will not be required on water attractions.
5. There will be social distancing measures in place everywhere inside the park. Easily identifiable markers will be added to all rides, restrooms, etc. Guests will be separated by empty rows and/or seats on all roller coasters, rides and attractions.
6. Lazy River and the wave pool will be at reduced capacity to ensure social distancing.
7. Guests are being asked to bring their own “Coast Guard approved lifejackets” for children under 42 inches, or those who aren’t strong swimmers. The park says lifejackets that are provided will be sanitized after guest use.
8. A team of disinfectors will be in place to sanitize “high touch points” throughout the park (bathrooms, trash cans, handrails, etc.) Hand washing and hand sanitizing stations will be set up throughout the park.
