? Tuesday marks the one-year anniversary of a massive fire that destroyed the Stamford Antique Center.
Fire investigators determined that a defective sprinkler system allowed the flames to spread. The building's developer, Antares Real Estate, admitted that it was aware the sprinklers didn't work, but was waiting for warmer weather to fix them.
That admission prompted a lawsuit by the store's 100 dealers, who jointly own the operation. The dealers say they lost about $10 million in inventory and haven't received any compensation. Some dealers have moved to the Stratford Antique Center, but many are still trying to recover.
Last year's fire also destoyed eight other nearby businesses.
