Adults and children alike descended on local theaters Wednesday to see the sixth installment in the "Harry Potter" series.
Fans say they spent the previous night revisiting the five previous movies and preparing magic-themed snacks.
Bow Tie Cinemas on Westport Avenue in Norwalk sold out 1,100 tickets to the first five showings of "Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince," making it the highest grossing midnight release ever.
Elsewhere in southwestern Connecticut, the new "Harry Potter" movie did equally well. The film sold out 10 of 16 shows in Bow Tie Trumball, five of six showings in Stamford, and all four showings in Wilton.
