Another air quality alert is in effect.

You may have noticed the eerie sky over the past couple of days.

Smoke from the Canadian wildfires is expected to be overhead in southwestern Connecticut again Thursday, combining with the heat and humidity.

The Connecticut Department of Energy and Environmental Protection says elevated fine particles are forecast again.

DEEP says air quality will be unhealthy for sensitive groups, especially people with respiratory conditions like asthma or COPD.

The smoke is affecting much of the Northeast and the Great Lakes.

The skies over Toronto appeared nearly apocalyptic as daylight struggled to break through the smoky haze.

A yellow-orange haze hung in the air in central New York.

Massachusetts health officials also issued an air quality alert.

AAA is reminding drivers to close their windows and recirculate the air in their cars.
