A "secure protocol" at all Connecticut technical high schools was lifted Friday.
State police deemed a threat of retaliation connected to a fight that broke out at Middletown High School earlier this week was not credible.
State police say a Hartford community member contacted them and told officials they were made aware of a possible retaliation fight at a school in response to the fight that broke out at Middletown High School on Tuesday night.
Police say the superintendent of Connecticut Technical High Schools placed all schools in “secure school” protocol but that the protocol was later lifted by school officials after the threat was deemed unfounded.
The secure protocol means that all exterior doors are locked, and no outside visitors will be permitted to access the building.
State police say they are not assisting in the incident that happened at Middletown High School and that Middletown police are currently investigating.
State police say out of an abundance of caution and to enhance security for the community, law enforcement will be present at all technical high school home basketball games scheduled for this evening.
