Bridgeport police say a stone angel dedicated to a child's memory that was stolen from a park has been found.
The angel statue was located in the park on Sunday, not far from its original location.
As previously reported, police say the 60-pound statue was taken late last Wednesday night or early Thursday from the playground at Beardsley Park called Aaron's Journey. The statue used to sit in front of a memorial sign at the playground, which was built for kids with and without special needs.
The playground was named for 9-year-old Aaron "AJ" Richardson, who died in 2008.
Police say the theft may have been a prank.
The angel will be returned to the child's mother during a special ceremony Wednesday.
