A WORD ABOUT THE SMOKE:
Smoke from New Jersey's wildfire could make it into our area as the winds shift. Currently, we have reduced air quality in Western Connecticut due to ozone levels, not due to neighboring fires. However, winds shift for Thursday, and we will likely see our air quality impacted by wildfire smoke. Exact smoke intensity will be affected by a number of factors including wind strength and direction, how quickly this is contained, and further developments.
Our current conditions are unfortunately favorable for wildfires to start and spread. We have low humidity and warm temperatures, and our April sun angle is intense. Connecticut will not see any impactful rain until Saturday.
Temperatures will remain in a pleasant category. 60s and 70s reign supreme and eventually will lead to even warmer conditions next week.
Main rain chance is Saturday. We are dry other than that through early next week.
OVERNIGHT: Highs in the high 40s and low 50s. Slight breeze. Calm, quiet, and dry. Mostly clear.
THURSDAY: Highs in the middle to higher 60s. Lows in the low 50s. Sunny. Potentially some haze from smoke.
FRIDAY: Highs in the low 70s, lows in the low to middle 50s. Clouds and sun.
SATURDAY: Highs in the middle 60s. Lows in the middle 40s. Rainy start to the weekend.
SUNDAY: Drier and sunnier. Highs in the middle 60s. Lows in the higher 40s.
