Atlantic City may not be the only game in town when it comes to gambling in New Jersey.

BasketballNews.com says that North Jersey is now a competitor for online betting.
“Looking at that geo-compiled data and seeing where wagers are coming from – those border towns – they absolutely have an influx,” says PointsBet communications director Patrick Eichner.
BasketballNews.com says that New Yorkers are flocking to towns like Fort Lee to make their bets, making the town a gambling hotspot often rivaling Las Vegas.
“You have so many New York Giants and Jets fans living in Manhattan, coming to our side of the water over to New Jersey on a Sunday morning and getting their wagers in prior to NFL Sunday kickoff,” Eichner says
Sports betting sites like FanDuel and PointsBet can't confirm the exact number of customers who use their services at a specific location - like the Linwood Plaza parking lot mentioned in the article. But Fan Duel does say 25% of its users are New York residents.
Eichner says that the same thing happened in southern New Jersey along the Pennsylvania border before that state legalized sports gambling.
And it is not just towns near the George Washington Bridge. Communities near a PATH station or NJ Transit stop are also seeing New Yorkers coming over to place bets on their mobile devices.
Industry experts say that New Jersey should enjoy the influx of money now, as New York gets closer to legalizing sports betting as well.
“If you don’t have to leave Manhattan and get on PATH and head to Hoboken or Jersey City and stay in the comfort of your own apartment and place mobile wagers there,” Eichner says.
FanDuel reports their sportsbook at the Meadowlands is the largest volume sportsbook on the East Coast.
