A Weston artist is gaining national attention by combining his two passions to produce a unique form of art.
After a brief stint studying law, 26-year-old Jesse Nusbaum decided to follow his dream of sculpting full-time.
"I took every art class I could possibly take in college, but sculpting really spoke to me the most," he says.
His love for animals inspired him to create large animal busts and figures.
Nusbaum says he is a huge University of Connecticut Husky fan and recently presented both men's and women's basketball coaches Kevin Ollie and Geno Auriemma a Husky sculpture to celebrate their 2014 National Championship titles.
"Both Kevin and Geno, they couldn't keep their hands off of it and they were very excited and intrigued about the process," Nusbaum says.
Nusbaum's work was recently featured at the Stamford Art Association Gallery. He was also invited to showcase his sculptures at Art Basel in Miami.
