A taxi driver who was assaulted outside of his Soundview home earlier this week says police are close to catching the suspect.
Mohammed Rahman says he and his brother both picked out the same suspect in a photo lineup. The brothers may have been attacked because they are Muslims and of Bangladeshi descent.
Rahman says the attacker first asked him the time around 1 a.m. on April 23. Then the questioner punched him in the face and broke his nose.
Surveillance video shows a woman dragging the assailant away after he turned his anger from Rahman to his brother, Sadequr Rahman.
Mohammed Rahman will undergo surgery on his nose next week. He says he's been out of work since the attack on advice from his doctor.
