AT&T announced that between 2019 and 2023 they invested nearly $500 million in network infrastructure across Connecticut in an attempt to close the digital divide.
It includes:
- Nearly $110 million in Bridgeport, Stamford and Norwalk.
- More than $200 million in Hartford, East Hartford and Middletown.
- More than $100 million in New Haven and Milford.
They have also expanded access to their 5G network and improved connectivity for first responders and public safety agencies.
In Nov. 2023, the cellular provider worked with the Boys & Girls Club of Stamford to gift more than 100 students with refurbished laptops. In April, they contributed $10,000 to Westport's Senior Center to teach seniors about modern technology.
