A fire damaged the attic and part of the roof at a home on Old Stone Bridge Road in Greenwich on Wednesday evening.

Firefighters were dispatched around 6:55 p.m. to the residence at 2 Old Stone Bridge Road after a neighbor reported flames visible from the home. Crews arriving on scene found fire on the roof and in the attic, near the chimney.

Firefighters stretched a hose line into the attic and cut the roof to prevent the fire from extending. Crews opened up the attic area and extinguished all visible fire.

Units worked for about 40 minutes to bring the fire under control. Subfreezing temperatures and icy conditions were present during the response.

Damage was limited to the attic and part of the roof. No injuries were reported.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation by the Fire Marshal’s Office, fire officials said.
