Connecticut's Republican
Party has a new leader.
Attorney Ben Proto was
elected Tuesday night by members of the party to lead the direction and party
strategy for the next two years.
Proto succeeds Susan
Hatfield, who was chosen in February to complete the term of J.R. Romano after
his abrupt resignation.
Hatfield did not seek a full
term.
Hatfield congratulated Proto
on his new position on Twitter, writing, "Congratulations to my good
friend on his election to Chairman of the Republican Party!”
News 12 will speaking to Proto this
weekend on Power & Politics.
