14ds agoAuthorities identified the person who was killed when a Long Island Rail Road train crashed into a car in East Farmingdale.
They say 62-year-old Lucien Jean, of Wyandanch, died in the crash that happened west of the Pinelawn station Thursday around 8:30 p.m.
The crash caused severe damage to the running rail, third rail and signal infrastructure, according to officials.
Service was restored on the Ronkonkoma line 15 hours after the crash.
