Avelo Airlines will begin flying out of Bradley International Airport in Windsor Locks, CT starting in November.
The airline announced seven new routes from Bradley and the launch of its first international flights.
Avelo Airlines will offer flights from Bradley to Montego Bay, Jamaica and Cancun, Mexico, as well as domestic destination to Houston, Charlotte, and Wilmington, North Carolina and Lakeland and Daytona Beach, Florida.
"Now we have four international destinations out of Bradley. We have gone from 30 direct flights five years ago to about 60 different destinations." said Gov. Ned Lamont.
CEO of Avelo Airlines, Andrew Levy said the addition of routes will create about 80 jobs.
"We're excited to extend our brand to another part of the state where we already have a lot of awareness and a lot of customers. Offer more choice and more convenience." said Levy.
All the above domestic destinations already are available from Tweed.
Travelers like Madelyn Orosz said Avelo at Tweed makes traveling easier, "This is much easier than driving an hour to Hartford because I only live about 20 minutes away. I enjoy this much better."
The new routes will begin rolling out Nov. 7.
