A gold and multiplatinum record-winning Bridgeport music producer has been signed to co-write a new reality show featuring a Bridgeport family.
Sweetheart Records at Just Right Studios in Bridgeport has hosted the likes of Stevie Wonder and Cindy Lauper. It's now hosting a recording artist and producer from Bridgeport more commonly known as FIG.
Ed Figueroa has spent 15 years working with songwriting legends Ashford & Simpson, and he's now to co-writing Triller TV's "The Swagmodovars."
The reality show is about a Latino Bridgeport family, the Almovdovars, who moved to Florida 10 years ago.
The star and the creator of the show, Jorge Almodovar, is now a Florida radio personality who started making skits during the pandemic just to make his friends smile and laugh.
He posted them on TikTok and now has over 1 million followers.
When Triller TV signed him on for his own reality show, Almodovar turned to his old friend FIG to co-write the scripts.
FIG says he couldn't do any of this without his producer/engineer, 23-year-old Ted Golden - the so-called Golden Boy of Sweetheart Records.
FIG says Almodovar is "the genius" behind project; he's just happy to be a small part of it.
"The Swagmodovars" will premiere May 5 on Triller TV.
