Thousands of people headed to Walnut Beach Saturday to celebrate one of Connecticut's most beloved culinary staples – the hot buttered lobster roll.
The Milford Regional Chamber of Commerce and Xfinity partnered to hold the city's first lobster roll-based festival.
Chamber officials say the hot-buttered lobster roll was created in Milford in the 1920s by Harry Perry at Perry's Restaurant.
The festival features rolls from local restaurants such as Stonebridge, The Breakwall and Nautilus. There is also music, kids activities and a beer/wine tent.
Organizers expect more than 4,000 people to attend.
