A
bald eagle rescued from the Housatonic River on Saturday died this morning.
Wildlife
rescue "Christine's Critters" shared the update on Facebook.
“We were preparing to administer her
chelation and fluid therapy, and she simply closed her eyes and passed away
peacefully,” the
post says.
Boaters
originally spotted the eagle near Wooster Island and called emergency
officials. It was brought to the rescue by Connecticut
Department of Energy and Environmental Protection crews and Shelton firefighters.
Christine's
Critters says they plan to do a necropsy to learn more about the bird's cause
of death.
