A local Bronx business has seen a recent increase in sales and customers, despite the economic downturn across the borough and the country.
Mo Gridder?s BBQ, a local barbeque joint, opened another location near Fordham University off Arthur Avenue two months ago. The famous barbeque-only restaurant once occupied a trailer in Hunts Point, where it sold its famous food. Fred Donnelly, the owner of Mo Gridder?s BBQ, says the new restaurant location at 632 East 186th St. is filled with college students at all hours of the day.
In order to keep his business booming, Donnelly keeps his prices low and his menu consistent. Barbeque, he says, is not fine dining, but a fun experience.
"The price is right, and barbeque is a place where people come to have fun,? Donnelly says. ?It's not fine dining, and I think people loosen up here.?
