A Weston man was injured Sunday when he flew off his bike after hitting an SUV at a tricky intersection.
It happened just before 10 a.m. on a hilly backcountry road at the intersection of Route 136 and Old Redding Road in Easton. According to police, the woman in the SUV was in the intersection when the man on the bike slammed into the side of her car.
The man complained of shoulder pain and was transported to the hospital, but he and the bike are in one piece.
There is a stop sign at the intersection, which is at the bottom of a hill. It is typically busy. ?Some of these roads can be pretty steep and winding? You don't want to be going down there doing 18 miles an hour and all of a sudden come around the corner and see that there's a stop sign,? one cyclist said.
Police want bike riders to remember to follow the rules of the road, and that they can be fined for passing stop signs.
