The 26th annual Toy Run kicked off at Mickey’s Community Restaurant in Bridgeport on Sunday.
John June, owner of the establishment, says this year marks a milestone for him personally.
Over the years, he has collected tens of thousands of toys for children all over the region that are distributed during the holiday season.
“It shows that people got big hearts,” says June. “The amount of toys they bring in is just fabulous and all these people do it out of their hearts. It makes me happy.”
As part of the Toy Run, bikers took an hourlong ride across western Connecticut and then returned to Mickey’s.
