The really warm temperatures will stick around for another day before they tumble back into the 40s on Thursday. The rain chances are on and off for the next several days.
More showers and even a few thunderstorms are in the forecast again late tonight through early Thursday, as a cold front dips through the area. A strong southwest wind flow will be replaced by a northeast one and bring temperatures down. The rain will come in clusters and become more widespread at times later Wednesday night into Thursday.
Temperatures on Wednesday will be warm and climb into the 70s inland, but coastal communities will feel the chill of the Long Island Sound and only see high temperatures in the 60s.
The cold front will return northward as a warm front on Friday, so temperatures will go back up. Showers will also come back. Temperatures will return to the 60s starting Friday and continue through Sunday. Cooler weather slides south again for next week.
