A winter weather advisory has been issued for Litchfield County for mixed precipitation that will include snow and freezing rain.

Wet snow arrives between 8 a.m. and 10 a.m. or so. The snow will change to rain at the Long island Sound first by 12 p.m.

Up to an inch of snow is possible north of the Merritt Parkway. Icy travel is possible into the afternoon north of I-84.

Watch for slick and slushy spots on the roadways.

Tonight only on-and-off plain rain showers are possible with temperatures above freezing all night.

Clearing on Wednesday with partly cloudy skies. More rain arrive late Thursday into Friday.

Spring weather arrives this weekend into next week with numbers above 60 degrees!
