The state inspector general released body camera footage Friday of a shooting involving police in Torrington.
Police were called to a home on Tioga Street on Wednesday afternoon for a welfare check.
They found Brian Dungan in the basement holding a knife.
Video shows Dungan saying, "kill me" and coming at the officers with the weapon.
Officials say Torrington Police Officer David Kisiel discharged a Taser, but as Dungan kept coming closer, Torrington Police Officer Jeffrey Buzzi shot Dungan.
He was hit three times and is in stable condition.
Dugan was transported to Charlotte Hungerford Hospital and airlifted to Hartford Hospital.
The incident is being investigated the Office of Inspector General, along with the Connecticut State Police Central District Major Crime Squad.
