Students were evacuated from Stamford High School Tuesday after police responded to what they say was a bomb threat called in to the school.
Police say an unidentified person called the school saying that there was a bomb on the property.
The principal says all 1,900 students and 200 faculty members rushed to the school parking lot and athletic fields following the initial announcement. The students were sent home around 12:30 p.m. School staff also called buses to take kids home.
Bomb squads and SWAT teams searched the whole property.
The principal says that all after-school activities were canceled Tuesday. Police say students will return on Wednesday.
