Organizers of a bone marrow registry drive in Milford say they are hoping to find a match for a teenager who has a serious blood disease.
The drive was held Sunday at St. Peter's Church for 18-year-old Warner Dixon, who is fighting a rare blood disease called beta thalassemia.
Dixon has had two surgeries in the past year, including one that caused her to miss her high school graduation.
News 12 is told she went from being an active teenager who played sports and danced to barely being able to move at times.
"I skipped so many classes because I couldn't walk," the Temple University student said.
St. Peter's Church Youth Director Maureen Lucas organized the drive. Potential donors filled out a questionnaire and had their cheeks swabbed, and they will be added to the Be The Match registry.
