Police are investigating after a young child fell out of the second-story window of a Bridgeport apartment building Thursday.
Police were outside the home on Jane Street for hours investigating. A neighbor says the boy, either 3 or 4 years old, fell out of the window on the side of the home in the afternoon. He says he heard screams coming from the building and rushed into the apartment, where he saw the parents with the child, who appeared lifeless. He says the mother had carried the child back inside after he fell and was on the phone with police as the child lay there.
There is no word on the child?s condition, but police say the boy was conscious when authorities arrived. Officials also say the fall appears to be an accident.
