The demolition of the old Tappan Zee Bridge caused traffic problems in the Hudson Valley today.
There were backups for miles on every entrance to the Gov. Mario Cuomo Bridge, but traffic was once again flowing on both spans of the new Gov. Mario Cuomo Bridge afterward.
However, the bridge implosion was delayed until 10:52 a.m., and I-87 was closed longer than anticipated.
Traffic was shut down starting at 10 a.m., as police stopped all vehicles on I-87 and I-287 on both sides of the bridge.  Drivers who didn't make it across had to wait for over an hour to get moving again.

Cars on I-87 were moving again before 11:30 a.m.
