City Lights Gallery is bringing a piece of its signature project, the Bridgeport Art Trail, to New Canaan in honor of it's 20th anniversary.
On Saturday, there will be an opening reception for its pop-up gallery, Sensory Overload, at the former Jean Jacobs Gallery at 84 Main St., across from Town Hall.
The show features different artwork - from painting to photography to mosaic - created by artists involved with the Bridgeport Art Trail.
There will be live music, food and refreshments.
The goal is to provide opportunities to Bridgeport artists and introduce the city's art scene to the New Canaan community.
"We know that sometimes in certain parts of Fairfield County folks don't always get to Bridgeport. And so we're bringing the art to them and hoping we can open minds and raise awareness. So maybe change some negative stigmas people may have about the city of Bridgeport because there's a lot of great art, culture and people there," says Suzanne Kachmar, executive director of the City Lights Gallery and the Bridgeport Art Trail.
The pop-up will be on display until mid-April.
