A Bridgeport business partnered with a local nonprofit to bring the Thanksgiving spirit to hundreds of families.
Northeast Building Supply and Helping Hands Outreach hosted a turkey giveaway Saturday at its location on Barnum Avenue. Owner Jason Cohen says he and his team are committed to giving back.
Norwalk resident Roberto Pauleus donated several turkeys for the giveaway.
"With the current situation, cost of living…We take the time to be here and purchase the turkeys to give, and it makes us feel great," he says.
Attendees say they are grateful for the work Cohen, Paulues and others do to make the event successful.
"It's beautiful. Every year I come here, it's nice, very organized, they do a great job. I love it here," says Aida Marcano.
