Bridgeport City Hall is offering business owners active shooter preparedness training following the deadly mass shooting in Virginia Beach.
Emergency operations Manager Scott Appleby says 'Bridgeport Ready' is free and available to businesses, non-government organizations, nonprofits and churches. Officials say the goal is to prepare individuals in the event of an active shooter incident.
Nate Moran, of Moran Insurance Agency on Main Street, says he is taking advantage of the city program.
