Bridgeport activists are calling for increased security in their neighborhoods after a recent shooting left one man dead and another wounded. Kenneth Moales Jr., senior pastor at the Cathedral of the Holy Spirit, says the city's violence needs to be brought under control. He says local leaders need to help instill safer values within the community. Authorities say a 20-year-old man was shot and killed yesterday at the Trumbull Gardens housing complex. Hours earlier, gunfire also erupted near the corner of Main and Charles streets. No one was injured in that shooting. Moales Jr. says his church is collaborating with the police department on an upcoming gun buyback program.
