Demolition crews took down a Bridgeport building Tuesday that officials say has become a public safety hazard and an eyesore.
Authorities say they repeatedly reached out to the owner of the house on Arctic Street, but they got no response.
So they're demolishing due to blight, along with a handful of other buildings around the city. Officials say the blighted properties contain contaminants like asbestos and lead.
The Arctic Street lot will go up for auction next month.
