A Bridgeport father is demanding justice for the slaying of his daughter, Mariyah, this past spring.
Hippy Nakhoune says he last saw his daughter outside his home on May 14. He says the next day, she went to a barbecue in New Haven with her boyfriend and was mistakenly shot in the back of the head and died.
Nakhoune set up a memorial for his daughter in his home and says she would've turned 21 years old on Tuesday. He also says he still thinks of her every day and visits New Haven police to seek answers about who was responsible.
"I just want justice... to take the life of someone like that and not have any remorse or sympathy, you're not even a human being," Nakhoune says.
He says he makes the trip to New Haven at the site where his daughter was killed every night and brings flowers and candy to remember her.
Anyone with information is asked to contact the New Haven Police Department at 203-946-6304.
