The Connecticut Burn Center at Bridgeport Hospital was formally rededicated today after a yearlong modernization project.

The $120,000 project was funded by firefighters and utility companies. It included a new entrance, upgrades to patients' rooms and a "family suite," where immediate family members can stay. The suite comes equipped with a bedroom, kitchen and dining area.

The project also expanded the nursing station and added a dedicated patient elevator.
