The 22nd annual Hazardous Waste Day kicked off in Bridgeport Saturday.
The effort is a green initiative that invites residents to drop off hazardous materials like gasoline, oven cleaners, polishers, computers and batteries at Blackham School.
Teams of volunteers will collect and remove the items.

News 12 Connecticut is told that the drop off will end at 1 p.m.
