Bridgeport has lifted its 8 p.m. coronavirus business curfew for the first time in a month, officials say.
Local business owners are welcoming the change, including restaurant Funchal Americana Buffet.
Owner Val Fernandez says he is excited to begin making late-night food deliveries Friday night.
Mayor Joe Ganim imposed the curfew on April 8.
Fernandez says he has gone from having hundreds of customers per day down to about only 20, but he hopes to change all that when he begins outdoor dining service next.
Ganim says the nighttime deliveries are one thing, but come May 20, he's encouraging all restaurant owners to apply for outdoor dining, a process the city is fast-tracking to help business owners.
