A Bridgeport man is blaming police for the motorcycle crash that injured him.
Rafael Heredia struck a tractor-trailer around 10 a.m. Wednesday at the intersection of Wordin and Railroad avenues. He received stitches to his knee and shin.
Heredia says a police officer pursuing him caused the crash.
"I just remember him behind me and then I'm in the hospital the next day," he says.
Police say there was no pursuit, and that the accident was caused by Heredia driving recklessly.
Police spokesman Av Harris says the motorcyclist was observed by an officer driving recklessly, and it was called in over a police radio. He says another officer saw the accident scene.
Heredia told News 12 Connecticut that he is considering a lawsuit, but did not say who the lawsuit would be against.
Police say they're still investigating the incident and looking at surveillance video in the area.
