A Bridgeport man is recovering from being stabbed in the eye Wednesday night.
Carl James was injured when somebody drove a knife deep into his left eye socket. Police say that the incident happened at the intersection of Fairfield Avenue and Norman Street around 6:30 p.m.
James was rushed to Yale New Haven Hospital due to the seriousness of the injury.
Police are investigating a possible connection to a shooting that took place a few hours earlier on Norman Street. However, they say that there is currently no evidence linking the two crimes.
Police say that the motive for the stabbing is unclear, and that they're examining surveillance video and welcome any tips from the public.
They can be reached at 203-576-TIPS.
