A Bridgeport man who police say killed a woman and then fled to Canada is back in Connecticut under police custody.
Investigators say Corey Ramos killed Jennifer Brelsford, whose body was found in Bridgeport a week ago.
They say Ramos, the victim's ex-boyfriend, fled the state and crossed into Vermont. He was later picked up by customs officers while trying to get into Canada.
Police say the victim's body was found insider her house on Goddard Avenue.
"Detective Heanue and Detective Rosco traveled to Vermont where Ramos waived his extradition," says Bridgeport Emergency Management Director Scott Appleby. "We served him with murder charges and brought him back to Bridgeport. He is in Bridgeport police custody."
Ramos is being held in Bridgeport on a $1 million bond.
