Two Bridgeport men were arrested Friday morning after they allegedly assaulted and robbed a 75-year-old man.
Police say it happened on Thursday in the victim’s backyard on East Main Street.
They say 33-year-old Carlos Souffront and 46-year-old Angel Martinez repeatedly punched the victim and robbed him of his wallet. The victim sustained a minor head injury.
Souffront and Martinez fled the scene in a black Nissan Rogue stolen from Stratford.
Police found the suspects with the stolen vehicle at the corner of Kossuth Street and Maple Street on the East Side of the city.
Souffront is charged with robbery, assault and larceny. Martinez faces the same charges and two more for unrelated warrants.
